reviewKatie comes up with a pretty tight mix , combining darkness with some groovy moments (like the Jahcoozi closure with the discrete housy sample) . The mix 'peaks' at several moments , my two favorites are the 25' and the 41' ones , in which the mix could easily be a Horror Movie soundtrack.After the mind-blowing 41' track (which i insist you shouldn't miss) more diamonds follow ending with the prementioned Jahcoozi track , leaving a sweet oldschool taste.respect. listen preview
biographyK.atou (katie_m) appeared to the public when she played as a guest dj at one of the biggest clubs in athens called "Bossa Nostra".She went to study at the UK and when she got back she got frequent gigs at Cafeina and at Astron bar and a monthly night as an after hours party at Almodobar .In the UK it seems she found one of the most inspiring friends DJ Fanny G and together they formed the team Les Rythmes Minimales promoting the minimal sound around Greece.Winter 2005 found K.atou with another collaboration along with Zero:One (I<3Aki, Minimal London) & Bonzo creating a team called .:MinimalAthens:. In the meantime she performed in different venues in Athens such as Danza, Factory, Wunderbar, Vanilla,Rhodes,Patra, as well as the famous Synch festival of contemporary electronic arts.In 2006 the NY label Goosehound assigned her as "foreign diplomat". After a trip in US and CAN for music meditating, as she likes to claim, started working on production. First collaboration with Nutown Project found its roof at the respected Berlin based Einmaleins musik label.
